The Kurdish and Kurdistan people are resilient of their future and believe in their cause.
Despite all of the difficult circumstances, the people will continue to uphold their strength and will. With These ideas and beliefs, the Kurdish and Kurdistan people started their new 2009, year, but they are watching in anticipation the events taking place in the region.
Today, both within and outside the geographic boundaries of Kurdistan, there are painful events happening. In these climates, the Kurdish nationalist movement is still moving forward. The gains obtained by the Kurdish people, increase the hatred and the wrath of the colonial countries occupying its land.
The occupiers are still continuing to bury the issue of national policy, and their evil plans are still at the forefront of their racist goals. And often agree with each other to launch attacks on Kurdistan, especially Turkey and Iran, they continued their policy of the destruction of Kurdistan, the damage of nature and all kind of life in Kurdistan.
Despite these attacks, Iran continues to pursue a policy of capital punishment!! The (KNK) calls on the State of Iran to put an end to these policies and to find a peaceful solution to resolve the Kurdish issue there, and grant full rights for the Kurdish people.
In the meantime, the Iraqi Federal Government Prim Minster joins this offensive process. Iraq Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki supports Iran and Turkey to break the power of the Kurdish nationalist movement in the northern and eastern of Kurdistan. On the other hand, he stands in the face of the federal Regional Government of Kurdistan, located within the borders of Iraq. And is trying by all means to pass his aggressive policies against the Kurdistan federal Government.
he Maliki and majority of the Arab members of the government are trying to create a serious kind of hostility with the Kurdistan Regional Government. On the one hand they want to prevent Kirkuk, Khanaqin and other cities from joining Kurdistan Region, on the other hand, the Iraqi army forces are on the outskirts of these cities establishing ground support militia forces to control those regions and reduce the role of the Peshmerga.
Maliki's government, with this policy of Arab chauvinism stands by Iran, Turkey and Syria in order to move against the hopes and rights of Kurdish people.
The Kurds In this great crises, continue in their struggle. America, although it participates in the construction of the region of Kurdistan and help the Kurds, but this time did not interfere in order to protect its interests. This position has increased the power of Arab chauvinist forces in the Baghdad government.
There is a clear plan aimed for destruction, the representatives of the plan they clearly want to surround the Kurds. To that end, they coordinate and work jointly. The main goal is to break the backbone of the Kurdish nationalist movement in northern and eastern Kurdistan, as well as the eradication of the People’s Defense Forces from the Kandil Mountains.
In order for Turkey to present this dirty plan, it presented itself to America, to pass such a strategy that enshrined the principle of violence against the Kurds.
The Kurdish Kurdistan people are aware of the fact that all these things generated by the colonialists, but under these circumstance the Kurds are asking themselves; America came to the Middle East under the banner of democracy, but at the same time, it supports Turkey and implicitly in agreement with Al-Maliki?
The KNK calls upon the new U.S. administration and President Barack Obama to get America out of this confusion. Also the KNK calls on the United States to return to its goal of "a democratic Middle East," which may be materialized in an agreement with the Kurds.
In this dark period, the essential role is to depend on the Kurds. The KNK frankly and openly ask all the Kurds to be vigilant of these acts carried out by the colonialists in order to liquidate the Guerrilla forces. This will be a dangerous warning for the region.
The KNK does not want to see any Kurd to participate in this hostile plan. The KNK wants to remind all the Kurds of the dark days of the internal fighting, and how that benefited the enemy and the Kurds have heavy losses. The KNK calls for national unity and for this sacred aim, it proposes to convene a National Conference, with a strategic document of national unity.
Kurds must be vigilant and alert of those agreements and conferences held by the enemies of Kurds. These conferences that gathered some of the Kurds, is essentially a major cause that will lead to help the policies of the regimes occupying Kurdistan.
The Conference of national unity must be the expression of the will of Kurdish people. KNK is ready to employ all of its ability to contribute to the convening of an expanded National Conference of Kurdistan.
In this difficult process, the KNK wants to alert the Kurds to the municipal elections in Turkey and Kurdistan, which will be held on 29 March. The Democratic Society Party will represent the Kurds in this election. KNK gives great importance to these municipal elections, under these difficult conditions we must govern ourselves in the Kurdish cities. With this national feeling, we call upon all the Kurds to give their support in these elections so that the Kurdish candidates can represent their towns and regions. The representation and management of all Kurdish cities, means the time of freedom and liberty is near.
KNK denounce the repression exercised against Mr. Abdullah Ocalan and calls for the Turkish state to opening the door for his freedom, and demands from the Kurdistan people to stand firm before the issue of Ocalan.
Finally, the KNK calls for all the forces and institutions of democracy and humanity to find a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in the region, particularly the United States and the European Union to be responsible of their values of democracy and support the Kurdish people. The designation of certain Kurdish organizations as terrorists does not solve the problem. The solution is in the dialogue. This request was also presented at the conference that brought together the European Union, Turkey and the Kurds in 28-29 January 2009. The Conference also requested that the name of the PKK removed from the terrorist list. If the United States and the European Union are to find a democratic solution, they need to open a dialogue with the Kurdish organizations. In this regard the United Nations Organization should serve as intermediaries between Kurdish leaders and the rulers of the Colonial states of Kurdistan.
